GMT: Thousands of tons of urgent aid to the Lebanese people

The Government Media Team - GMT announced on Saturday the arrival of thousands of tons of various humanitarian, relief, food and medical aid.

"Based on the duty of brotherhood and solidarity, in response to the circumstances that the brotherly Lebanese people are going through, and in implementation of the directives of the Prime Minister to mobilize governmental and popular efforts to provide urgent humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of the brothers and support them in overcoming this ordeal," said the team in a statement - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

The statement included that, "The amount of aid sent amounted to thousands of tons of various humanitarian, relief, food and medical aid."

"This support comes as an affirmation of the depth of the brotherly ties that unite the governments and peoples of the two countries, and an embodiment of the humanitarian values that bind them," added GMT.
