Head of the Victory Alliance, Haider al-Abadi, stressed on Saturday, that confronting the challenges in the region requires unity and neutrality of the national decision.
"Iraq succeeded after 2003 in establishing a democratic system that withstood challenges, and we must overcome failures in order to succeed in the future,” Al-Abadi said in his speech during the Fifth Middle East Peace and Security Forum (MEPS 2024) held by the American University in Duhok, and attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He added that "Iraq is part of the transformations of the Middle East, and the region is living in a moment of anxiety, emotional and conflict, and any hasty dealing will be a mistake in establishing and managing countries," noting that "we must deal rationally with the upcoming changes and scenarios."
He stressed the "necessity of dealing strategically at the national level with these challenges, and we must have unity and neutrality in the national decision."
