Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning, Mohammed Ali Tamim, emphasized on Wednesday that the population census will play a pivotal role in ensuring social and economic justice and enhancing service levels across Iraq. He called on all Iraqis to cooperate with census teams by welcoming them and providing accurate information.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Ministry of Planning announced that “Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning Mohammed Ali Tamim launched the nationwide population census at 7 a.m. today, which will continue until the end of tomorrow, Thursday.”
The minister urged Iraqis to “cooperate with census teams by providing accurate data, as this is vital for shaping Iraq’s future.”
Tamim underscored the exceptional importance of the census, noting that it “will contribute to achieving social and economic equity and improving service delivery in all sectors.”
He also commended “the efforts of security forces, field teams, and census enumerators for their significant role in ensuring the success of the population census.”
The minister further praised “the support of governors, local administrators, and community leaders in aiding the Ministry of Planning’s efforts to carry out the census.”
