The joint preparatory committee for the match between our national team and its Jordanian counterpart in the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup held a meeting today, Sunday, to discuss the success of the match scheduled to be held next Thursday at Basra International Stadium.
The Football Association said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "The committee consists of Basra Governor Asaad Al-Eidani, the first deputy president of the Iraqi Football Association Ali Jabbar, the director general of the region in the Ministry of Youth and Sports Ahmed Saad Aliwi, the head of the security committee Major General Mahdi Shawai, the commander of Basra operations Major General Saad Mohsen Aribi, the head of the security committee in Basra Governorate Council Aqil Al-Furaiji, the director of Basra Police, the head of the sub-union in Basra Badr Nasser, the match coordinator Ammar Abdul Rahman, and the Asian VAR technology observer Ali Karim."
"The committee discussed the issues of organizing the match and its logistical preparations, and the observations regarding the entry and exit of the fans."
The first vice president of the federation, Ali Jabbar, stressed according to the statement "the necessity of cooperating with all parties in a smooth and organized manner; in order to show the match in the best possible way."
The match between our national team and its Jordanian counterpart will be held on (14) of this November within the fifth round of the second group qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
