Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari chaired on Saturday, a security meeting to discuss preparations to secure the Arab Summit in Baghdad.
A statement by the Ministry of Interior received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari chaired a meeting at the ministry's headquarters, which included a number of security leaders, to discuss the ongoing preparations to secure the Arab Summit in the capital, Baghdad."
The statement added that "the attendees discussed all items on the agenda of this meeting, and took appropriate decisions regarding them in order to achieve the success of the work of the security services and intelligence departments during this occasion."
Al-Shammari stressed that "the arrival of the brothers, kings, presidents, leaders, and heads of the sisterly Arab delegations, once again, as guests in Baghdad, the civilization, is a continuation of the approach of the Iraqi government headed by the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, in integration with the Arab environment, and the great role of Iraq, which is a pillar of peace, brotherhood, stability, and joint work in various fields."
The statement continued, "The meeting included a number of discussions aimed at the success of the security work during this upcoming Arab summit during the coming period."
