Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Naeem Al-Aboudi and his Saudi counterpart Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan agreed today, Thursday, to adopt the joint action plan.
A statement by the ministry - received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) - stated that "the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council held a meeting of the Education, Youth and Sports Committee, headed by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Naeem Al-Aboudi and his Saudi counterpart Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan."
The statement added that "the attendees discussed - via video conference - the proposals submitted by both sides regarding the initiatives, projects and programs of the fifth session of the Education, Youth and Sports Committee."
It pointed out that "the two sides agreed to adopt the joint work plan and assign the committee coordinators from both sides to initiate steps to implement the work plan according to a specific timetable."
The statement continued, "The attendees concluded with a speech by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Naeem Al-Aboudi and his Saudi counterpart Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan, in which they appreciated the efforts of the work teams from both sides and the steps of cooperation between the two brotherly countries in the fields of education, youth and sports."
