The Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, discussed with the head of Badr Organization, Hadi Al-Ameri, today, Monday, the expected tasks of the Council of Representatives.
The media office of the head of Badr Organization stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the head of Badr Organization, Hadi Al-Ameri, received the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, in his office in the capital, Baghdad."
"At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Ameri congratulated Al-Mashhadani on his election as Speaker of the Council of Representatives, and the two parties discussed the expected tasks of the legislative authority and the role of the Council of Representatives in the next stage."
Ameri expressed according to the statement his hope that "the parliament will take its active role in passing important laws, activating its oversight tasks, and enhancing joint efforts with the executive authority to achieve the national interest," noting that "the election of the new Speaker of the Council of Representatives represents an important step to enhance political stability in the country."
