Ministry of Justice reaffirmed on Saturday, its commitment to implementing the government’s program and advancing humanitarian standards within Iraqi prisons.
According to a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Minister of Justice Khaled Shwani welcomed Australian Ambassador to Iraq Glenn Miles and his accompanying delegation for discussions centered on enhancing judicial and legal cooperation.
Minister Shwani emphasized the ministry’s unwavering dedication to enacting the government’s program and elevating humanitarian standards within Iraqi correctional facilities.
He underscored the ministry’s commitment to upholding human rights principles for detainees, ensuring their rightful entitlements, and fostering a reformative environment within the prison system.
Ambassador Miles commended the Ministry of Justice’s reform initiatives and expressed Australia’s enthusiasm for advancing bilateral cooperation with Iraq, particularly in the realm of judicial and legal expertise exchange.
