Iranian government spokeswoman announces to raise military budget by around 200 pct

    Government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani announced on Tuesday that the defense budget will be increased by 200% in next year's budget.
     
    "The Zionist entity has committed an attack on our country's airspace in recent days, in violation of international law, and caused losses that led to the martyrdom of five,"
     
     Mohajerani said at the weekly press conference. "A terrorist group in the southeast of the country, in coordination with the Zionist entity's attack, targeted ten of our border guards and martyred them," she added. 
     
     
    The government spokeswoman "thanked the air defense forces for their heroic efforts to protect the country," stressing "the continuation of the active diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which led to the failure of the enemy's plans and the mobilization of many countries to condemn this blatant attack."
     
    Regarding Iran's membership in the BRICS group and the president's recent visit to the group's summit, Mohajerani explained that "BRICS was formed to enhance trade exchanges and to strengthen the economic, political and scientific powers of member states BRICS Pay platform for electronic payment has been designed and is currently being implemented and needs some time to be activated." 
     
     
    She continued, "The Iranian people must realize that Western sanctions are not only military, but they also hinder access to raw materials for medicines and the government is working to strengthen the pharmaceutical infrastructure as well."
     
    Regarding the government's plans to enhance the country's defense power, the government spokeswoman explained that "the budget must cover many different aspects, and budgets have been allocated for many sectors in next year's budget," indicating that "there are plans to increase the defense budget by 200% in the next budget."
