Portugal and Iraqi Embassies Discuss Future Prospects for Cooperation

    The Iraqi Embassy in Portugal organized, today, Saturday, the Lisbon Forum, in cooperation with the European Foundation for Dialogue and Development, indicating that the forum discussed the prospects for the future of joint relations between Iraq and Portugal.

    A statement by the embassy - received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) - stated that "within the framework of the tireless efforts made by the Iraqi Embassy in Lisbon to open up to the Portuguese side; to enhance cooperation in all fields, and after the important positive results that emerged from the Lisbon Forum (first edition), which is the main pillar for revitalizing the bilateral relationship between the two friendly countries, and to maintain this communication and invest it in the best way, the Iraqi Embassy organized, in cooperation with the European Foundation for Dialogue and Development EIDE, the Iraqi Council of Representatives, the Confederation of Portuguese Industries CIP, and the Arab-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Lisbon Forum CCIAP.".

    The statement added, "The second edition of the Lisbon Forum was held under the title (Strengthening the partnership between Iraq and Portugal... A comparative reading of the constitution), which was held in the capital, Lisbon, and was attended by a number of senior advisors to the Iraqi Council of Representatives headed by Firas Al-Husseini, the President of the European Foundation for Dialogue and Development EIDE Alaa Al-Bahadli, the President of the Arab-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce CCIAP Luis Menezes, and the President of the Federation of Industries CIP Armindo Monteiro, in addition to the participation of former ministers, including the Portuguese Minister of Economy Antonio e Silva, and the former Minister of Health Alberto Fernandes, in addition to specialists in cybersecurity, clean energy, construction and the pharmaceutical industry, and important Portuguese political and constitutional figures and businessmen. The forum was also attended by the former ambassador to Portugal, Hussein Maala."
