Guterres calls to return to diplomacy and prevent an all-out regional war

    The UN Secretary-General called on Saturday for an immediate halt to all escalatory actions in the Middle East.

    “All acts of escalation are condemnable and must stop,” said António Guterres in a statement - followed up by the Iraqi News Agency - INA adding that is “deeply alarmed” by the continued escalation across the region.

    The Secretary-General reiterated his urgent appeal to all parties to cease all military actions, including in Gaza and Lebanon, and to exert maximum efforts to prevent an all-out regional war, calling for a return to diplomacy.
