MOT: Mosul International Airport was built to international specifications and its completion rate reached 86%

    Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, confirmed today, Saturday, that Mosul International Airport was built according to international specifications, while indicating that the completion rate reached 86%. 

    Al-Saadawi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Our visit today to Nineveh Governorate is to see the progress rates and ongoing work at Mosul International Airport," noting that "there is significant progress in the work according to what was planned by the ministry and the completion rate has reached 86%, and the completion rate of the roads inside the airport is more than 90%."

    He added that "the program of our visit includes the opening of some important projects in Nineveh Governorate, most notably the passenger station, which is the first in the Iraqi governorates in the northern and southern parts of Mosul, as well as the opening of public transport lines in the city of Mosul after the public transport service was activated in the capital, Baghdad."

    He pointed out that "we have now moved to the governorates, most notably Nineveh, to activate the public transport service; due to its importance in the life of the Iraqi citizen," adding that "we discussed the development road project and the path that passes through the governorate, which will be one of the most important stations within the project."

    He explained, "The work of the implementing companies at Mosul International Airport is good, and there are consulting companies that have submitted their reports indicating that the work is within international specifications."
