The President of the Iraqi Football Association, Adnan Darjal, confirmed today, Saturday, that the former star of the national team and top scorer in the Gulf Cup championships, Hussein Saeed, is one of the symbols of Iraqi football and has a rich history and a record studded with gold.
A statement by the Football Association - received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) - stated that "the President of the Iraqi Football Association, Adnan Darjal, extended his thanks and gratitude to the former star of the national team and top scorer in the Gulf Cup championships, Hussein Saeed, for his strenuous efforts in raising the name of Iraq in various forums when he represented the national teams, and succeeded in achieving many titles and championships.".
Darjal added - according to the statement - that "Hussein Saeed is one of the symbols of Iraqi football and the unique stars who emerged, and had a real role in representing the national team most wonderfully, so he was chosen to be among the legends of Gulf football who were honored in the 26th Gulf Cup in Kuwait because he has a rich history and a record studded with gold."
