Erdogan: Turkey to normalizing relations with Syria

    Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed today, Friday, that Ankara is open to normalizing relations with the Syrian government.

    Erdogan said: "The terrorist attack on Tusas Company was carried out by the infiltration of the perpetrators through Syria," noting that "the terrorists are just puppets and agents and our goal is for Turkey to be free of terrorism and we will not give up on that."

    Erdogan added, "We hope that the Syrian government will understand the benefits that honest and realistic normalization of its relations with Turkey will provide it and take its steps accordingly." He
    continued, "There is an increase in the number of parties supporting our initiative under the umbrella of the United Nations to impose a comprehensive arms embargo on the Zionist entity.".

    For his part, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerli Kaya announced the "arrest of 176 people suspected of belonging to the Kurdistan Workers' Party in operations in 31 provinces."
