Sayyid Sistani asserts the importance of documenting Daesh crimes

    INA - BAGHDAD

    UN delegation competent to investigate crimes of ISIS in Iraq arrived today to Najaf, Iraq and met his Eminence Sayyid Ali Sistani.

    His eminence asserted the importance of documenting Daesh crimes same as Nazis crimes have been well documented and these terrorist groups must be held into account as the whole world to be introduced to the serious danger they bring to humanity.

    He also called to cover the hideous crimes done to specific components in the country such as Yazidis in Sinjar, Christians in Mosul and Turkmen in Tal Afar in addition to the crimes of raping and selling women.

    Sayyid Sistani focused on the importance of witness protection for the ones who cooperate with the international delegation especially in those areas where there are still few of Daesh hidden members.

    This included his Eminence to highlight the necessity of helping the IDPs to return home to the areas that have been reconstructed and to provide services in it, adding “This is the role to be played by the Iraqi government but it needs help from the international community as well,”
