The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) confirmed that the special voting process for the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections is proceeding smoothly, while indicating that a plan has been put in place to transport ballot boxes to the main warehouses.

The head of the media team in the commission, Imad Jamil, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The voting process is ongoing and there is great organization and discipline by the security forces participating in the elections," noting that "coordination with the security leaderships achieved organization in the special voting process by not having the military sectors attend at the same time, but rather arriving at different times."

He pointed out that "no malfunction was recorded for any devices and all voters are committed to bringing the required documents, and there have been no violations so far," indicating that "there is intense local and international monitoring in the Kurdistan Parliament elections."

Jamil explained that "the polling centers and stations were determined according to the locations of the security forces to facilitate the movement of voters to the polling stations, and in the event of any breach, it will be diagnosed and addressed."

He explained that "mobile phones were banned from entering the polling center and any voter carrying a mobile phone inside the polling centers without approval will be held accountable," noting that "media personnel and observers were banned from bringing mobile phones inside the station, and they are only allowed to be carried inside the center."

Jamil confirmed that "there is no extension process for any reason and the devices are programmed to stop at six in the evening," noting that "a security logistical plan has been put in place to transport ballot boxes from the centers to the warehouses of the governorate offices."
