The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC), Omar Ahmed, warned on Friday, of taking legal measures against those who commit violations during the Kurdistan Region elections.
Ahmed said in a press conference attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "any person or party that works to create violations during the special voting process in the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections, legal measures will be taken against them."
He called on "all parties not to set up a tent near the polling stations," noting that "everyone must enjoy the spirit of sportsmanship, because the elections represent competition between all parties."
