An earthquake measuring 2.9 on the Richter scale struck northern Iraq on Thursday, according to the Iraqi Ministry Of Transportation.
The ministry said that Meteorological Organization and Seismology said that the earthquake was recorded 31km from Duhok province in the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq.
It confirmed that no human casualties have been reported so far as a result of the earthquake.
