Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani stressed, today, Sunday, the importance of strengthening the role of the Communications and Media Commission in regulating broadcasting and the work of the media, and supporting its efforts in strengthening the national media discourse.
Prime Minister's media office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received the Chairman of the Communications and Media Commission, Ali Hussein al-Muayyad."
"The Prime Minister was briefed on the progress of the Commission's work and its procedures in supporting the government's efforts and plans aimed at improving the service reality for citizens, and supporting the implementation of government programs aimed at achieving citizens' aspirations within the framework of the challenges they face."
Al-Sudani stressed according to the statement "the importance of strengthening the role of the Commission in regulating broadcasting and the work of the media, as well as supporting its efforts in strengthening the national media discourse, and combating the promotion of destructive phenomena and ideas that threaten the cohesion of our society."
