The Lebanese Ambassador to Iraq, Ali Al-Habhab, confirmed today, Saturday, that there is close cooperation between the embassy and the Iraqi Ministries of Immigration and Interior to facilitate the entry of Lebanese guests and organize their residency file.

Al-Habhab told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The holy shrines in Karbala and Najaf, in addition to the Popular Mobilization Forces, are making great efforts to accommodate the guests of Iraq," indicating that "there is close cooperation between the embassy and the Ministries of Immigration and Displacement and Interior in this context to facilitate entry operations by organizing statistics, arranging the issue of residence and distributing arrivals.".

Al-Habhab pointed out that "Iraqi families play a fundamental role in helping the displaced, and that most of the Lebanese who were hosted are due to brotherhood, friendships, family relations and blood relations with the Iraqis, as well as Lebanese of Iraqi origin who came to Iraq.".

He continued, "We hope that there will be no additional escalation that leads to an increase in the numbers coming, as the figures indicate that more than 100,000 Lebanese have been displaced to the Syrian interior."
