PM directs forming committee to probe into the Pollution, submit reports within two days

    Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani directed on Saturday, the formation of a specialized committee to investigate the pollution crisis and the recurring of sulfur-like odors in Baghdad and neighbouring provinces. The committee is expected to submit its report within two days.
     
    Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency-INA that “Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani has ordered the establishment of a specialized committee, led by the Ministry of Environment’s Advisor, with representatives from the Ministries of Oil and Electricity, the Technical Undersecretary of Baghdad Municipality, and the Director General of the Central Region's Environmental Protection and Improvement Department. The committee will study the pollution issue and the recurring sulfur odor emissions in Baghdad and neighboring provinces, to determine their causes and provide solutions.”
     
    The Prime Minister emphasized the need for comprehensive solutions to the problem, ensuring that all aspects are thoroughly examined. The committee is tasked with submitting its report on the matter within two days.
