CMC: An initiative between Iraqi and Lebanese channels to pressure into stopping the war

    The Communications and Media Commission announced on Monday an initiative between Iraqi and Lebanese channels to pressure into stopping the war and attacks on civilians and residential neighborhoods in Beirut and other Lebanese cities.

    The head of the Communications and Media Commission, Ali Al-Muayyad, made a phone call to the Minister of Information in the Lebanese government, Ziad Al-Makkari," included a statement by the Communications and Media Commission - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    During the call, the role of the Iraqi Media in the relief campaigns called for by the supreme religious authority was reviewed, with Iraq affirming "its full readiness to cooperate with the Lebanese side to support it in light of the current crisis."

    The statement added, "A cooperation initiative between the Iraqi and Lebanese channels was also discussed, to pressure into stopping the war and attacks on civilians and residential neighborhoods in Beirut and other Lebanese cities."

    Al-Muayyad confirmed that "the Iraqi media stands with the Lebanese people, within the framework of the directives of the supreme religious authority and the government of PM Muhammed S. Al-Sudani."

    The statement explained that "the two parties stressed the need to create a supportive Arab media initiative, through the Arab League, to unite in confronting media misinformation campaigns, while shedding light on the crimes targeting civilians and safe homes, which have caused the killing and displacement of thousands in clear violation of all international and humanitarian laws."
