Baghdad - INA
On Friday, the General Company for Iraqi Ports denied the existence of an oil leak in territorial waters.
The company's media director, Salam Al-Shahmani, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the news that was reported about an oil spill at the confluence of the territorial waters (Iraqi-Kuwaiti-Iranian) is fake news and false."
He explained that "the two tankers, Aframax Fortune Galaxy (9257010) and Serrano 2 (9165542), which were said to be the cause of the oil spill, were in the Strait of Hormuz on the same date and our observatories in the region did not record any pollution cases," calling on all media outlets to "be accurate in reporting news and to take it from its official sources."
