The Lebanese Hezbollah announced that more than 20 Zionist officers and soldiers were killed or injured in the outskirts of Maroun al-Ras and Yaroun.
A field officer from the Islamic Resistance Operations Room stated in a Hezbollah statement that "the explosives detonated by Islamic Resistance fighters today, Thursday, targeted elite Israeli forces attempting to advance in the outskirts of Maroun al-Ras and Yaroun, resulting in the death and injury of more than 20 officers and soldiers."
He confirmed that "the explosives were recently planted, based on surveillance and tracking by the fighters of enemy movements, with some of the devices being planted just hours before the detonation."
He added that "Islamic Resistance fighters successfully planted these explosives along potential advancement routes of the enemy’s elite forces near the Lebanese-Palestinian border, amidst heightened alertness and the gathering of Israeli forces at their positions and military barracks on the opposite side. This took place while enemy reconnaissance aircraft were heavily patrolling the region's skies."
