Lebanese war must be prevented, says UN

    The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, confirmed today, Wednesday, that things are worsening in Lebanon.

    Guterres said during a UN Security Council session on Lebanon - followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Civilians in Lebanon are paying a heavy price for the conflict, which we strongly condemn.".

    He added that "UNIFIL forces are still in their positions in southern Lebanon," stressing that "it is necessary to prevent a comprehensive war in Lebanon."
