Nineveh Governorate organized on Friday its first international book fair with the participation of 110 local and Arab publishing houses.
"It is not new for Nineveh Governorate, which has a cultural heritage, to hold this exhibition on its land, in which more than 110 Arab and international countries participated," said the Director General of the Department of Culture and Arts at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Fayez Taha Salim, in a special statement to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
Salim pointed out "the presence of a major role for the Ministry of Youth and Sports in this exhibition," noting at the same time "several initiatives held by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, including providing grants for more than 25,000 shopping cards for young people, to purchase cultural and artistic books."
In turn, the owner of the Egyptian Al-Wasatiya Publishing House, Alaa Azzam, confirmed that "this participation is his first in Nineveh Governorate," noting "the success of the exhibition through the participation of many Arab publishing houses in it, in addition to the public turnout that the exhibition received."
