Lebanon government: Death toll from the Zionist bombing rises to 564

    Lebanese Environment Minister Nasser Yassin announced on Tuesday that the number of martyrs from the Zionist bombing of the southern regions, the Beqaa, and the southern suburbs of Beirut has risen to 564 martyrs.


    "The Zionist raids led to the martyrdom of 564 citizens and the displacement of a large number of Lebanese. Activating the national operations room and the Supreme Relief Authority to secure the basic needs of the IDPs," said Yassin in a press conference for the Ministerial Emergency Committee - followed by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.


    He added, "252 public schools have become shelters to accommodate 27,000 IDPs, with the distribution of basic aid and food meals to them."


    "We are preparing for the possibility of building humanitarian bridges to secure the needs, and we are requesting direct aid in cooperation with the United Nations so that it is available as soon as possible," said Yassin.


    Earlier, Lebanese Minister of Education and Higher Education Abbas Al-Halabi announced on Tuesday the extension of the "closure of schools and universities throughout the country against the backdrop of the continued Zionist aggression on the country."
