The Libyan Center for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences announced on Monday monitoring a case of marine pollution near Misrata, Libya as oil leaks in the Mediterranean Sea.
According to the center's reports, the area of marine pollution exceeded 7 square kilometers.
It said that the cause of the leak may have been caused by an oil platform or a ship.
Investigations are underway to determine the exact source of the leak and assess potential environmental damage.
