The Supreme Judicial Council-SJC directed on Monday, the implementation of stringent measures against movements that exploit religion as a cover for their deviant practices.

According to a statement from SJC received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), SJC President Faiq Zidan instructed courts to take decisive legal action against certain movements that have recently emerged under various names. These movements utilize religious or sectarian justifications for practices that contradict the principles, values, and tenets of those religions or sects, some of which pose a threat to the lives of citizens who belong to specific faiths or sects.
