The Iranian Relief Organization announced on Sunday that the death toll from the coal mine explosion in Khorasan Province has risen to 30, with 17 others injured.
The reporter from the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said, citing a statement from the organization that "the explosion occurred around 9:00 PM last night at the coal mine in southern Khorasan Province, resulting in numerous injuries and the disappearance of others."
It was added that eight teams from the Red Crescent Society have been dispatched to the site of the incident in southern Khorasan.
According to preliminary investigations, the explosion was caused by a methane gas leak in one of the mine's tunnels.
