Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani directed, today, Wednesday, the preparation of guidelines to ensure fair competition in the banking sector.
A government source told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "In the context of the objectives of the government program, and within the efforts to activate the strategies concerned with developing banking services and their quality, the Prime Minister issued a directive to the Competition Affairs and Anti-Monopoly Council, affiliated with the Prime Minister's Office, to cooperate with the supervisory and technical authorities in the Central Bank of Iraq, to prepare guidelines in accordance with the Competition and Anti-Monopoly Law, in a way that ensures fair competition in the banking sector and enhances harmony and agreement in implementing public policies in this field."
