MOHESR: Signing the technical cooperation agreement with the IAEA

    INA - BAGHDAD

    The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research - MOHESR announced on Tuesday that Iraq and the International Atomic Energy Agency - IAEA signed a technical cooperation agreement for the years 2024-2029.

    "The head of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Naeem Al-Aboudi, signed the technical cooperation agreement with the IAEA for the years 2024-2029," said the ministry in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
     
    The agreement was signed by both the head of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission, Naeem Al-Aboudi, and the head of the Technical Cooperation Department at the IAEA, Hua Liu. It included many aspects related to the use of atoms for peace in the fields of nuclear medicine, agriculture, food security, energy production, radioactive waste management, liquidation of nuclear facilities, and other scientifically related axes to the peaceful and safe uses of nuclear technology.

    "Al-Aboudi participates in the activities of the 68th conference of the IAEA, showing that Iraq and its institutions are keen to develop and strengthen the contexts of understanding and joint coordination with the International Agency in specialized scientific fields."

    According to the statement, the head of the Technical Cooperation Department at the International Agency expressed "the Agency's commitment to providing the necessary support in the field of cooperation."
