BOC: Explosive materials found south of Baghdad, six defendants are arrested

The Baghdad Operations Command BOC announced on Monday the arrest of 6 defendants and the seizure of "explosive materials" south of the capital.

BOC stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "to complement the ongoing security operations in the vicinity of the capital with the aim of enhancing security and stability and to maintain the security achievement achieved, the security services carried out a number of pre-emptive operations, during which six defendants were arrested according to various legal articles and explosive materials (remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs) and a number of unlicensed weapons and equipment were seized within the areas of (Abu Ghraib, Al-Latifiya, Al-Mazhariyah, Al-Sultan, Al-Gypsiya, Shakha/5).

The Command added, "The defendants were handed over with the seizures to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedures against them."
