The office of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sayyid Ali al-Sistani, offered its condolences on Wednesday, on the passing of Sayyid Fadhel al-Milani.
The office stated in a statement addressed to the son of Sayyid Haider Al-Hussaini Al-Milani, and received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "we received with great sorrow and regret the news of the passing of the scholar, Sayyid Fadhel Al-Hussaini Al-Milani (may God bless his soul) after a life full of giving in the way of promoting the true religion and serving the believers."
The statement added: "We offer our condolences to you, your family, and the loved ones of the deceased in this great loss. We ask God Almighty to have mercy on him and grant him satisfaction, and to grant his family patience and solace."
