Tunisia, final list of candidates for presidential elections

The Independent High Electoral Authority in Tunisia has just announced on Monday, the final list of eligible candidates for the presidency of Tunisia.

The three admitted candidates are: Kais Saied, outgoing president running for a second term, Zuhair Maghzaoui, former parliamentarian and secretary general of the Popular Movement.

As anticipated by the head of the Authority, Farouk Bouaskar, the Independent High Electoral Authority has had the final say on the candidates. After examining the indications of the administrative court and its reasons, as well as the rulings of the judiciary, it has not admitted some aspirants whose appeals had been accepted on appeal by the administrative court.
