The Joint Operations Command announced, today, Thursday, the formation of a technical working team to investigate the fall of a Turkish drone in Kirkuk Governorate.
A statement by the command received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "at 9:30 am today, the Iraqi air defense detected a drone within the Kirkuk Operations Command sector. After following it and knowing its path and its arrival to the center of Kirkuk city, which contains government headquarters, important economic centers and vital targets, all security agencies as well as the international coalition forces inquired about the ownership of this aircraft, and it turned out that it was an unknown aircraft.".
The statement added that "at 10:30 am, the plane was observed falling inside the city, and it turned out that it was a Turkish plane. A technical team was formed from forensic evidence, air defense and drone crews to find out the reasons for its fall and the circumstances of the incident."
