Joint force arrests fugitive wanted for extortion and bribery offences in Baghdad

    Baghdad Operations Command announced on Tuesday the arrest of a wanted fugitive for extortion and bribery crimes in Baghdad's Rusafa side.

    A statement by Baghdad Operations Command, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said, “In continuation of the security plan and intensifying intelligence efforts to pursue outlaws and organized crime elements and implement judicial arrest warrants, a joint force from the 1st Federal Police Division, with intelligence support, managed to arrest a ‘fugitive’ suspect according to a judicial arrest warrant within the provisions of Resolution (160) of 1983 for extortion and bribery.”
     
    The statement added that “the accused was found in possession of (7000) dollars and (10,000,000) Iraqi dinars, after raiding and searching his house in the Baladiyat area on the Rusafa side,” noting that “the accused and the seized items were handed over to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedures against him.”
