Officials in Dhi Qar Governorate announced today, Wednesday, that the visit of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani to the governorate solved many problems, while they indicated that the Prime Minister inaugurated vital projects in 5 main areas.
The Director of Youth and Sports in Dhi Qar, Muhannad al-Sahlani, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "Nasiriyah International Stadium, which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister, will contribute to the development of football in the governorate, especially the clubs participating in the league, namely Al-Gharraf and Nasiriyah," noting that "this stadium will accommodate 20,000 spectators and will have signs of qualifying the first club for the Stars League."
Al-Sahlani added that "the stadium is international and has good and suitable places for referees, coaches, substitutes, a VAR system, special rooms for media personnel, and a VIP cabin, and it is fully equipped," indicating that "the shape of the stadium is taken from the Sumerian heritage of Dhi Qar Governorate and will be a good omen for the people of the governorate."
For his part, Dhi Qar Deputy Governor for Services Affairs, Salama Al-Sarheed, explained in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Dhi Qar Governorate witnessed the opening of a number of vital projects, including tourism, sports and other service projects during the Prime Minister's visit to the governorate and his meeting with the local government," noting that "other projects were launched, including energy."
Al-Sarheed pointed out that "Al-Sudani held an expanded meeting in the city of Nasiriyah in the presence of the local government and the governorate's representatives in parliament," indicating that "a 50-bed hospital was opened in Al-Batha District, and for the first time this district witnesses such a hospital with modern and advanced equipment, in addition to the tourist city of Ur, the first phase of which was opened today."
He pointed out that "a 5-star hotel with a capacity of 400 rooms was referred to investment, a modern market was opened, and the cornerstone was laid for the museum of Dhi Qar antiquities. Nasiriyah International Airport and its advanced stages were inspected," noting that "all efforts are aimed at raising the economic level of Dhi Qar Governorate and employing workers."
Al-Sarheed continued, "Many problems and projects were presented to the central government headed by Al-Sudani for the purpose of providing services to citizens and contributing to solving problems," adding, "We see this visit as positive and it has moved many problems and we hope that there will be other upcoming visits to follow up on the work of the local government and projects that provide services to citizens."
