Minister of Migration and Displacement Evan Faeq Jabro announced today, Saturday, that recommendations have been submitted to the Prime Minister to end the file of the displaced in Erbil and Dohuk.
While noting that the 4 million grant for returnees is still ongoing, she confirmed that the return operations of those who meet the security conditions are ongoing from Al-Hawl camp in Syria.
Jabro told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The ministry has completely closed the camps for the displaced in Sulaymaniyah Governorate," indicating that "under the direction of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, a high committee was formed to solve the problems of the displaced in Erbil and Dohuk Governorates.".
She added that "the committee held meetings and submitted its recommendations to the Council of Ministers to completely close the file," explaining that "the 4 million grant is still ongoing."
Regarding Al-Hawl camp, the Minister of Migration confirmed that "the ministry is still continuing to return the displaced, as 170 families have been returned within the 17th batch who underwent security checks and it was proven that they were not involved in terrorism, and they are currently in the psychological rehabilitation center for rehabilitation."
