The Parliament issues a statement about the Minister of Education’s husband

    INA - BAGHDAD

    The official office of the Parliament Speaker, Mohammed al-Halbusi denied the news regarding the husband of the Minister of the Education being under the parliament custody.

    “This news is being posted on social media and other TV channels. It is absolutely fake news,” stated the al-Halbusi Media Office.

    The statement included the following,

    “Emad Tariq; the husband of the Minister of Education; is an employee that has been hired by the former speaker of parliament, Usama al-Nujaifi according to the decree 78 of 1/7/78 in 13th of March, 2013. The job title was Manager Assistant in the Public Relation and Services Department as he was reemployed in the guest house of al-Nujaifi in al-Qadisiyah. On the 1st of November, 2017 and according to the decree of 3989 he was moved to the Parliament / Provinces Offices Department / Left Nineveh Office of the Parliament and this was approved by the former Speaker of the Parliament Saleem al-Juboori. He has been moved to be fully employed for an office of one of a former member of the Parliament. On the 9th of August, 2018 and under the decree of 2399 he was moved back to the Parliament / Provinces Offices Department / Left Nineveh Office of the Parliament.”
