The Karbala Criminal Court issued a life sentence on Wednesday against a drug dealer who exploited his military status to facilitate the transfer of narcotics between governorates.
The media center of the Supreme Judicial Council stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the convict exploited his military status to facilitate the transfer of narcotics between governorates," noting that "a firearm and various quantities of crystal meth were seized inside his home."
The statement added that "the sentence was issued based on the provisions of Article 28/First of The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, No. 50 of 2017."
