The head of SMC reveal the plans to secure the Arbaeen pilgrimage

    The head of the Security Media Cell (SMC), Tahseen Al-Khafaji, revealed on Wednesday, the plans to secure the Arbaeen pilgrimage, while pointing to the opening of new roads and the entry of aircraft to transport special cases.
     
    Al-Khafaji said in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Joint Operations Command is working with the Supreme Security Committee supervising the plan for the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (PBUH)," indicating that "these procedures began some time ago in preparation for the pilgrimage of the month of Muharram and its extension to the Arbaeen."
     
    He added, "With the approach of the pilgrimage and the entry of our security forces, the security and intelligence agencies began searching for sufficient information to secure the pilgrimage."
     
    Al-Khafaji continued, "We have security and service plans, the first is to increase intelligence and security efforts and qualitative operations to track and pursue the enemy in potential areas,the second is to increase security cordons at the entrances and exits of the holy city of Karbala, there is also great work by our security forces through aerial surveillance, increasing cameras, and conducting patrols, whether by the air force or the army aviation," noting that "there are roads that have been opened that will facilitate the movement of pilgrim."
     
    Regarding the service sector, Al-Khafaji pointed out that "there is a great deal of work by the service committee supervising this pilgrimage, which includes providing vehicles, car garages, medical units, as well as health guidelines and providing special vehicles to provide immediate first aid and even planes to transport special cases."
     
    He explained that "the committee is continuing, and the pilgrimage will differ from last year in movement of pilgrim through the large number of roads that have been opened and the squares that have been designated," explaining that "the camera system in the holy Karbala governorate has been completed and there are technical service efforts to provide services, monitor and note any case that can be served as quickly as possible."
