Central Criminal Court Sentences Six to Death for Forming International Drug Trafficking Network

    The Central Criminal Court issued death sentences on Tuesday for six individuals convicted of establishing an international network specializing in drug trafficking, with the intent to distribute and sell drugs in Iraq.
     
    According to a statement from the Judicial Council received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the convicts were found in possession of 30 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, which they intended to transport and promote within Iraq, as well as to Gulf countries.
     
    The ruling was issued in accordance with Article 27, Section 1 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act No. 50 of 2017, in conjunction with Articles 47, 48, and 49 of the Penal Code.
