The Government Information and Communication Office revealed on Monday that the efforts of the Federal Integrity Commission in pursuing and following up the recovery of fugitive convicts culminated in the handing over a former director general in the Ministry of Health to the Iraqi authorities from UAE, the fugitive is convicted of 12 cases.
According to a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Authority's Government Information and Communication Office said that "the tireless efforts made by the Recovery Department in cooperation with the Arabic and International Police Directorate at the Ministry of Interior and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Justice and Public Prosecution led to the handing over by the authorities in U.A.E. the fugitive convict, the former Director General of the Babil Governorate Health Department (Nawras Abdul Razzaq Abdul Shaheed), against whom an international red notice was issued, following the recovery files organized by the department."
The statement pointed out that "the convict was sentenced to (12) in absentia with severe imprisonment , totaling nearly (28) years."
The Commission had announced on the twenty-third of February last year, that "the General Directorate of the Federal Criminal Police in U.A.E. arrested the fugitive convict, the former Director General of the Babylon Governorate Health Department, based on the issuance of an international red notice, issued against him, and the recovery files organized by the Recovery Department, due to the existence of criminal cases in which he is accused."
