UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres confirmed on Wednesday that the attacks in Beirut and Tehran represent a dangerous escalation in the Middle East.
Guterres said in a press statement that "the attacks in Beirut and Tehran represent a dangerous escalation in the Middle East, at a time when efforts should lead to a ceasefire."
He added that "the international community must work to prevent any actions that could push the entire Middle East to the brink of the abyss."
