The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) issued a clarification on Sunday, regarding 50,000 Pakistanis Missing in Iraq.
“The ministry followed up on what was reported by some media outlets about the alleged disappearance of 50,000 Pakistanis in Iraq, and in this regard, the ministry made official contacts with the friendly Pakistani side represented by the Pakistani Minister of Religious Affairs, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, who confirmed the confusion in the transmission of the information he provided,” MOFA stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"what was reported by the media about the disappearance of 50,000 Pakistanis is incorrect," The statement added "the Pakistani side will summon the media outlet that published the inaccurate news to investigate the matter."
