The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR), Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, confirmed on Friday, that the ministry is moving towards internationalizing higher education and interacting with international experiences.
A statement by the Ministry's media office received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "Al-Aboudi visited the Budapest University of Technology and Science in Budapest , and was briefed on the university's specialized environment and laboratories, and discussed in a meeting with the university's presidency and its board of directors the field of coordination in the field of atomic energy engineering and the formation of a joint committee to organize the framework for cooperation with the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission."
During the meeting, the Minister of Education stressed "the importance of scientific and educational partnerships, twinning programs and exchange of expertise in light of the policy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its orientation towards internationalizing higher education and interacting with international experiences and its keenness to establish contexts of understanding and exchange of scholarships," noting at the same time that the Study in Iraq program, which aims to "attract international students to Iraqi universities, provided a positive climate for scientific and cultural exchange between Iraq and the countries of the region and the world."
