The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) confirmed its work in accordance with the laws, while indicating its rejection of methods to distort the image of its heroes.

PMF stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that it “rejects what was issued by the dismissed Speaker of parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, against the service and retirement law for the Popular Mobilization heroes and the accusations and fallacies it contains against PMF and its president,” stressing that “PMF works in accordance with Laws, especially Law 40 of 2016.”

The statement continued, "Whoever transgresses the Constitution and the law is not qualified to appoint himself as a preacher and advisor to others," adding, "We hope that the members of parliament will do justice to our heroes and what they have given to our country since the fatwa of the religious authority and the call of the nation, in circumstances that are not hidden from everyone and overlooked by some."
