The Karkh Criminal Court has sentenced a man to seven years in prison for impersonating the Prime Minister's advisor.
According to a statement from the Judicial Council, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the convict had accepted cash payments from the complainant, promising that the complainant’s son, who had been sentenced to death, would be included in a general amnesty.
"The ruling was issued in accordance with the provisions of Resolution 160 of 1983, Clauses One/1 and 2," the statement added.
