The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) issued today, Monday, a ten-year prison sentence for a criminal for impersonating a judge.
SJC said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “Rusafa Criminal Court issued a ruling against one of the criminals in prison for ten years for the crime of impersonating a judge at the Supreme Judicial Council."
The statement stated, "The criminal who impersonated a judge took sums of money from the complainant in exchange for his retrial (the complainant's brother) who was sentenced to death."
He added, "The court issued its ruling against the criminal in accordance with the provisions of Resolution 160/First/1 and 2 of 1983."
